A collaboration between the Holy See and the Comune di Roma to promote and identify a lost medieval papal processional route known as the Via Papale – linking the Vatican to the Lateran basilica  

To mark this route with bronze disks as “targhe stradali” embedded along the streets of modern Rome

To sponsor an internationally peer reviewed competition for the design of the proposed “targhe” amongst world renown artists, architects and designers

To create an interactive mobile app incorporating GPS & Google Earth technologies to highlight the placement of the proposed “targhe” along the route – uncovering a lost scenography of the city

To promote research of the placement and development of monuments and churches along this route over the millennia in context of the Via Papale

To encourage pilgrims, scholars and tourists to explore the monuments of Rome within the context of this ancient route
